"Golf-a-lot Family Recreation Center" level samples

I've long had a strange obsession with recasting a themed miniature golf course as a game level, to the bewilderment of all I've explained it to. This first attempt used some cheap medieval village and graveyard assets to create tiny props, some of which fit with the intended "cheap and shoddy" feel better than others.

Storywise, the course is placed near a high security military lab, its structures filled with secret recording equipment to monitor the conversations of off-duty researchers. This still strikes me as a fun trick to squeeze a lot of story out of a seemingly unimportant location, as I'd much rather build a level like this than yet another secret lab (easily in the top five biggest level design cliches, right after sewers and warehouses).

It's also worth noting that this stage was designed around some basic stealth enemies, though I wouldn't say their implementation was entirely successful. It does, however, mark this as a more functional map than earlier attempts, although I'd say it scores a lot more points in regards to atmosphere. Aside from a few frame-rate-killing missteps (far too much grass, poorly optimized particle effects), it's actually quite a nice looking little level, and much more restrained than those which came before.
